The Floral Nursery

Finally, the nursery blog post that's taken me 3 years to share LOL. Although, in my defence I didn't have a blog yet until she was about 1.5 years old so here it is! I spent years dreaming up this nursery if I were to have a daughter so when we found out we were having a little girl I was beyond excited! Over the 9 months of being pregnant it all came together. The floral mixed with pink and gold and some butterfly and unicorn accents. To this day Emmerson absolutely loves her big flowers on her wall. I finally committed to custom drapery a year after she was born and did it ever complete the room. Although I didn't have a blog when I was doing this nursery I still had a photographer shoot it to always have the memories of her baby years in this room. This past summer we took down her crib and transitioned her to a "big girl bed" so I wanted to share her nursery details before we move on completely to the big girl phase! Scroll down for photos, links and info about this sweet, little space including paint colour and wallpaper!

I always get lots of questions about her name sign. I had asked her uncle to make it for her as he is great with wood-working, he painted it gold and they hung it as a surprise to come home to from the hospital. This size is roughly 30-36". Here are a few other options:

The drapery is custom. I went with a heavier, white linen fabric, a brass rod and brass rings. Shop the other accessories here:

  1. Rocking Horse

  2. Rug (Size 5x8 shown here)

  3. Play mat

  4. Light Fixture (this one is discontinued) here is a similar one

  5. DIY Drapery: Rod / Drapery / Rings

This dresser is one of my favourite affordable pieces, perfect for a children's room! Paint colour is: Charmingly Pink by Sherwin Williams in collaboration with Pottery Barn. I did it at 25% lighter.

  1. Dresser

  2. Knobs are Homesense but here are similar ones and another option

  3. Change Topper

  4. Diaper Pail

  5. Butterfly Artwork is Homesense but here is a similar one

I brought in some personal touches besides my Homesense shopping spree to make her room a little more special! This ballerina figurine was my mom's and Emmerson has been dancing since the day she came out of me LOL. The footprint is hers from the day after she was born, how tiny is it! I bought that custom art piece here (I chose a brass frame with warm gray letterpress).

Other sweet little personal details I added was her first flower girl crown for my sisters wedding when she was 1 years old, a custom print "Sweet Emmerson" from her Sip n See party (shop here), and this unicorn trinket dish. Most of these items I found at Homesense.

The other side of the room is where the pink walls meet this beautiful floral wallpaper and more personal touches on the white shelving. I actually finished styling these shelves the day before my water broke! They are mixed with old figurines from my childhood with new pieces I bought for her before she was born. Scroll down to shop the crib and wallpaper. Basically all these things have stayed in her room with the addition of her big girl bed.

Scroll below to see the linked wallpaper, forever a favourite of mine and it inspired her nursery!

  1. Wallpaper

  2. Crib

  3. Cuddle & Kind Doll...we are obsessed with these dolls and it is such a great cause!

This sweet blanket rack was my Nana's. I had my Grandpa paint it white for Emmerson's room so she always has a piece of her in there as she sadly passed away 5 days before Emmerson was born.
